These were the updates at Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 28 runs in the third and final T20 of the series on Saturday, March 9:

  • Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh in the third and final T20 to take the series 2-1.
  • A hat-trick for Nuwan Thushara set the tourists on their way in the chase
    at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Kusal Mendis earlier top scored with 86 in the first innings.
  • Bangladesh won the second match by eight wickets on Wednesday to level the series at 1-1 as they chased a target of 166.
  • Kamindu Mendis top-scored for the visitors with 37 runs, but Najmul Hossain Shanto hit the winning runs for six, which also brought up his 50 as he was named Player of the Match.
  • Sri Lanka won the first match of the series by three runs in a thrilling finish.
  • The two teams will face each other again in the group stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup in June.
